Districtwide Facilities Master Plan Update Rancho Santiago Community College District

Suniya 360 Architects* updated and integrated all eight District owned sites within one Districtwide Facilities Master Plan (FMP) Update. Through Suniya 360’s leadership, analysis and facilitation this update was developed using a participatory governance process entailing more than 70 meetings across various constituent groups including students, faculty, staff, and the community. The FMP Update identified current and future facilities needs in alignment with the latest campus Educational Master Plans; in alignment with State Initiatives including Vision for Success, Guided Pathways, Strong Workforce Program, and Basic Needs; in alignment with sustainability goals with respect to facilities conditions; and in alignment with pandemic and expected post-pandemic effects.

In light of the numerous facilities needs, this update also identifies each campus’s priority projects. With Suniya 360’s guidance each campus’s workgroup developed educational assessment frameworks, and the district facilities workgroup developed a facilities assessment framework, to help evaluate and prioritize projects. Suniya 360 developed and refined flexible FMP solutions to address these priorities and the majority of facilities needs identified, providing options for funding and implementation.
